The MAC114A-0-ED-2-F/180-B-0/S009 servo motor is designed and manufactured by Rexroth Bosch to be used in integration with analog drives. It is a genuine AC-based servomotor that operates at high speed and high torque. The MAC motors accept velocity and position commands through two serial interfaces, making them suitable for high-volume operations in severe industrial environments. The motor connectors on the compatible flanged sockets make it simple to connect the power tachometer or encoder cables.

The MAC 112 servo motor features a specialized ED winding design and convectional cooling that enables exceptionally smooth operation, making it ideal for applications in grinding machines and precision lathes.  A specialized tachometer that guarantees the smooth operation of the motor is utilized instead of a basic conventional tachometer. Most of the motors in this series have a standard centre diameter of 130 mm, but this motor has a comparatively large pilot diameter (180 mm). This diameter helps ensure optimal load distribution, improve efficiency, and minimize noise or vibration. AC motor systems are a cost-effective solution because of the motor design and construction materials used.

As AC motors don't require brushes, they are less expensive to buy and require less maintenance. An AC motor system's lifespan is dependent on preventative maintenance. It is necessary to conduct routine inspections. Look for rust and debris on the AC motor during inspections. Debris and dirt can block airways and decrease airflow, which shortens the life of insulation and may even cause a motor to fail. The MAC series comprises motors with varying features (tachometer, encoders, and size), torque, and speeds; however, they all perform the same function, which is to transform electrical energy into mechanical output.
