The S300 series is a line of digital servo amplifiers intended to be integrated as a safety-related component within electrical machines or plants rather than used as a standalone device.
It is designed to control torque, speed, and/or position for suitable brushless synchronous servomotors and can also be used with asynchronous motors when correctly configured. The drives are built for installation in a closed control cabinet and are specified for operation from grounded industrial supply networks, with models covering both 110/230 V class and 400/480 V class mains ranges depending on the amplifier type. The platform supports PC-based setup via an RS-232 connection and offers CANopen communication, with optional expansion cards available for common automation networks such as PROFIBUS, SERCOS, DeviceNet, SynqNet, and EtherCAT. Functional features include a dynamic braking concept, DC bus linking options, encoder emulation outputs, and an integrated Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function with defined safety characteristics and wiring requirements.
