The S30361-FB servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen within the S300 Servo Drives series. It converts line power to a controlled DC bus and three-phase output so that synchronous or induction motors can be driven with precise torque, speed, and position loops. In automated packaging lines, pick-and-place stations, and material transport systems, the unit sits between the motion controller and the motor, supplying regulated current while monitoring feedback devices for closed-loop stability.

The drive accepts a single-phase or two-phase mains range of 110 to 230 V, allowing installation in control cabinets that share standard utility feeds. At nominal loading, it draws 1.1 kVA and delivers up to 3 A rms of motor current, which is the continuous thermal limit of the output stage. Power devices are pulse-width modulated at 8 kHz, and the high switching rate helps minimize current ripple and acoustic noise in low-inductance servomotors. Dynamic braking energy is absorbed by an internal resistor of 66 Ω rated for 20 W, eliminating the need for an external dump resistor in light- to medium-inertia applications. When the control electronics are active and the drive is regulating, worst-case heat rejected to the panel is 35 W, and fanless cabinet cooling can be sized accordingly.

For safety circuits, the drive provides the STO function, which removes gate signals from the power stage so the motor cannot generate torque during an emergency stop sequence. Reliable operation is maintained up to a cabinet temperature of 40 °C, and the DC bus remains within insulation limits as long as it does not exceed 450 V DC. Overall mass is 2.6 kg, while the 270 mm height and 171 mm depth, measured without connectors, support dense stacking on DIN rails. Auxiliary feedback devices can be powered from the integrated 5 V, 300 mA encoder supply, and the drive dissipates only 12 W when the power stage is disabled, reducing standby cabinet heating.
