Product Description:
The S30101-NA-SB servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen and delivered under the S300 Servo Drives series. It functions as the regulated power stage between a motion controller and an AC servomotor, shaping voltage and current so automated axes reach commanded positions with minimal settling time. An integrated CANopen interface enables cyclic data exchange, diagnostics, and node synchronization across multi-master networks, allowing the unit to fit directly into packaging, material-handling, and light-robotics cells.
The drive accepts a three-phase input of 208–480 V and delivers a continuous phase current of 1.5 A RMS, while transient demands are covered by a peak current of 4.5 A RMS per phase. Continuous power draw is limited to 1.2 kVA, keeping cabinet feeder requirements modest. Pulse-width modulation is performed at a carrier frequency of 8 kHz, while a reduced-current mode at 16 kHz lessens audible noise. The output current form factor remains 1.01, and the inverter voltage drop is limited to 5 V, helping sustain the motor voltage. Internal regenerative energy is discharged through an onboard brake channel rated for 20 W. To protect component life, the drive permits no more than 30 on/off cycles per hour.
At full load, the drive dissipates 40 W, falling to 12 W when the output stage is disabled. The aluminum housing is 70 mm wide and 171 mm deep without connectors. It weighs 2.6 kg, enabling compact DIN rail layouts within control cabinets. The bus capacitors tolerate a maximum voltage of 900 VDC, while a 91 Ω brake resistor limits regenerative voltage within that boundary. Functional safety is provided by the dual-channel STO (Safe Torque Off) input, which removes motor torque without external contactors. Thermal performance remains stable during normal operation when switching is performed at the reduced-current carrier frequency.
