It is an S300 servo drive that converts single- or two-phase utility power into precisely timed output for permanent-magnet servo motors used in packaging lines, pick-and-place stages, and other automated equipment. By closing the current, velocity, and position loops internally, the drive provides responsive motion control while reducing controller load in industrial automation cells and supporting smooth axis behavior during rapid starts, stops, and direction changes.
The housing measures 70 mm wide, 171 mm deep, and 246 mm high, and it weighs 2.8 kg, so the drive fits in compact panels without requiring large support hardware. It accepts a single- or two-phase input of 110…230 V and draws up to 4 kVA when delivering its nominal output. Under continuous operation, the power section supplies a rated current of 10 A rms, while temporary load surges are covered by a peak capability of 20 A RMS. A hardened front end charges the DC link up to 450 VDC, and this bus is modulated by an IGBT bridge that switches at 8 kHz to minimize motor ripple. Communication with the cell controller is provided through an integrated DeviceNet option card, and idle operation produces only 12 W of quiescent heat, which helps keep enclosure temperatures manageable during standby periods.

Excess kinetic energy is handled by an internal regeneration circuit that dissipates up to 80 W, while steady-state thermal output is limited to 90 W to protect nearby components. A dual-channel Safe Torque Off circuit provides STO functionality, enabling immediate motor power removal without external contactors when a safety input is asserted. This supports category stop functions with fewer external devices and helps simplify the overall safety chain.
