Product Description:
The S30661-PB servo drive is part of the S300 Servo Drives series produced by Kollmorgen for closed-loop motion control in industrial automation lines. The unit houses its power electronics inside a 70 mm-wide, 171 mm-deep, and 246 mm-high enclosure, so it fits compactly in multi-axis control cabinets. As a drive, it converts incoming single- or three-phase mains power into a regulated DC bus and a high-frequency output that commands a matched servo motor, giving machine builders position, speed, and torque regulation without external contactors or relays.
Electrical performance is based on an input range of 110–230 V and a continuous demand of 2.4 kVA. Under nominal load the converter supplies a phase current of 6 A rms, while short dynamic events can be covered by up to 15 A rms. The internal rectifier and capacitor bank sustain a DC link potential of 450 VDC, letting the drive energize high-speed synchronous motors without saturation. An STO channel provides certified Safe Torque Off, removing drive energy to the motor when requested by the safety PLC. Field networking is handled by a dedicated PROFIBUS expansion card, and the front panel exposes two 9-pin Sub-D connectors for daisy-chain cabling.
Thermal behavior is governed by a switching stage that operates at 8 kHz. When the axis is unloaded the device releases only 12 W of quiescent heat, but at full rated torque dissipation rises to 60 W, figures that assist cabinet designers in sizing ventilation or liquid-cooling loops. Despite the integrated power electronics and line filter, the drive weighs just 2.8 kg, so it can be mounted on slender DIN rails or swing plates without additional support hardware. The single board architecture leaves space for the PROFIBUS option while maintaining clearances for STO monitoring circuits and keeps service access to fuses and connectors unobstructed.
