Product Description

The S31061-PB is a versatile digital servo amplifier with a current rating of 10 Arms and a voltage rating of 110 to 230 V. The device can be supplied from three-phase grounded industrial supply networks. The unit is a safety component built into an electrical plant or machine. It should be operated only as an integral component of such a plant or machine. The rated input power of the product for continuous operation is 4 kVA. The approximate weight of the device is 2.6 kg. Extreme care should be taken when assembling, transporting, and operating the unit. The motor is equipped with a PROFIBUS expansion option. The surface of the servo amplifier can be hot when it is live. There is a high risk of minor burns. The surface temperature of the device can exceed 80?C. So before touching it, the user should measure the temperature, and wait until the motor has cooled down below 40?C. The unit should be safely earthed to the PE (protective earth) busbar in the switch cabinet. Without low-resistance earthing, personal protection cannot be guaranteed and there is a risk of death from electric shock. The S300 servo amplifier contains electrostatically sensitive components. Incorrect handling can damage these components. So, before touching the servo amplifier it is vital to discharge oneself. Contact with highly insulating materials like artificial fabrics and plastic films must be avoided. The servo amplifier must be placed on a conductive surface. If the packaging is damaged, the unit should be checked for visible damage. In the case of damage, the shipper and the manufacturer should be informed. In general, the product does not require maintenance. If the user opens the device, it invalidates the warranty. Only the manufacturer should clean the inside of the unit.

Frequently Asked Questions about S31061-PB

Q: Is the user permitted to use the setup software to alter the settings of the S300 servo amplifier?

A: Yes, the user is permitted to use the setup software to alter the settings of the S300 servo amplifier. However, any other alterations will invalidate the warranty.

Q: What kind of conductors can be used for wiring the S300 servo amplifier?

A: Only copper conductors should be used for wiring the S300 servo amplifier.

Q: Can the user open or touch the S300 servo amplifier during operation?

A: No, the S300 servo amplifier should not be opened or touched during operation because it produces high electric voltages up to 900 V.

Q: Can the user modify the S300 digital servo amplifier?

A: No, the user is not allowed to modify the S300 digital servo amplifier without the permission of the manufacturer. Opening the housing voids the warranty and all certificates become invalid.

Q: In what kind of machinery, the S300 servo amplifier should not be commissioned?

A: The S300 servo amplifier should not be commissioned if the machine in which it is installed does not meet the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive, does not comply with the EMC Directive or with the Low Voltage Directive and does not comply with any national directives.
