Product Description:
The S30101-FB is produced by Kollmorgen within the S300 Servo Drives series. It is a compact motion controller that interfaces with brushless motors to regulate torque, speed, and position in automated assembly cells, packaging lines, and material-handling axes. The unit integrates power electronics and control logic to close the loop between feedback devices and higher-level PLC commands, supplying drive current that tracks commanded trajectories. This arrangement supports coordinated axis movement during repetitive industrial motion tasks where stable response and closed-loop correction are required.
It accepts a three-phase input from 208 to 480 V mains and, under rated conditions, draws 1.2 kVA. The drive supplies a continuous motor current of 1.5 A rms, while overload events are handled by a peak output of 4.5 A rms. An output current form factor of 1.01 keeps conduction losses low, and the internal link can rise to 900 VDC when regenerative energy returns from the motor. IGBT modules switch at 8 kHz, increasing to 16 kHz when current is below 50 percent to reduce acoustic noise. A residual 5 V drop across the output stage limits induced back EMF, and the built-in STO circuit disables torque without mechanical contactors.
Its housing is 70 mm wide and 171 mm deep, excluding connectors, so it fits between standard DIN-rail components inside an IP20 cabinet. When the control section is inactive, the unit releases 12 W, and thermal output rises to 40 W at full load. The electronics tolerate ambient moisture up to 85% relative humidity without condensation. For feedback devices, an integrated supply delivers 5 VDC at up to 300 mA, supporting incremental or absolute encoders mounted on the driven motor. The drive is intended for enclosed control panels with other automation hardware, where cabinet spacing and heat dissipation must be managed carefully.
