The S31061-NA-SB servo drive is manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the S300 Servo Drives series for compact industrial motion systems and multi-axis equipment. It conditions AC mains power, generates a regulated DC bus, and feeds a pulse-width-modulated output stage so that connected servo motors receive precisely metered energy for stable torque and speed control during continuous machine operation. The unit is applied in packaging, material-handling, and general automation cells where tight velocity loops, coordinated motion, repeatable axis response, and accurate command following are required, and its 171 mm depth without connectors allows dense cabinet layouts.
The drive operates from an input range of 110-230 V, and the DC link is monitored up to a maximum of 450 VDC with disconnection at an overvoltage threshold of 455 VDC. A continuous phase current of 10 A rms is available, corresponding to 4 kVA of rated input power and supporting motors whose line-to-line inductance is no lower than 1.9 mH at the upper end of the input range. The output transistors switch at 8 kHz, limiting residual voltage drop to 4 V while achieving a voltage rise speed of 3.3 kV/µs. Safe Torque Off is implemented through dual channels identified as STO (Safe Torque Off), removing drive power without mechanical relays during an emergency stop. Communication with the host controller occurs over the built-in CANopen interface, and up to 30 start/stop cycles per hour are permitted.
An internal dynamic brake network absorbs deceleration energy; its resistor is valued at 66 Ω and can dissipate 50 W continuously. Under rated loading, the electronics discharge 90 W of heat, falling to 12 W when the power stage is disabled, so forced-air ventilation must account for these figures. The housing measures 70 mm in width, which supports side-by-side stacking in control cabinets and leaves room for adjacent wiring ducts and neighboring drive modules.
