Product Description:
The S30361-FN is a servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen within the S300 Servo Drives series. This unit interfaces between AC mains power and a closed-loop motor, converting incoming energy and executing control commands to manage speed and torque in industrial automation cells. By integrating drive electronics, Safe Torque Off functionality, and field-oriented control, the product supports precise positioning tasks in packaging lines, material-handling axes, and small machining stations. Closed-loop regulation lets the amplifier correct motor behavior during load changes, which helps maintain stable motion and repeatable response.
Electrical service is flexible because the drive accepts 110–230 V AC on its power terminals, and the upstream circuit is protected by a 6 AT supply fuse. Control electronics and the integrated cooling fan draw 24 VDC at up to 2.5 A from the auxiliary connector, while an internal 3.15 AT fuse isolates that low-voltage circuit. Four digital inputs allow connection of limit switches or start commands, and the microcontroller processes those signals with an output-stage switching frequency of 8 kHz. Heat produced during operation amounts to 35 W at rated current and is removed by the controlled fan. With an IP20 enclosure rating, the device is intended for mounting inside a conditioned control cabinet, where the Safe Torque Off channel can disable the gate drivers so the motor cannot produce torque when the safety loop is open. An internal brake resistor of 66 Ω rated at 20 W absorbs energy during rapid deceleration.
During steady operation, the amplifier supplies 3 A rms to the motor, yet its design permits momentary surges up to 9 A rms for acceleration demands. Incoming power demand at maximum load is 1.1 kVA, and the DC link can rise to 450 VDC before overvoltage protection engages. These operating limits support tight current regulation across speed changes and short dynamic load peaks. The internal brake resistor and controlled fan allow the drive to handle routine deceleration energy and thermal load without requiring an external brake chopper when it is used within the stated voltage range.
