The S30601-DN is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the S300 Servo Drives series. Designed for cabinet installation, the housing measures 70 mm in width and 171 mm in depth, allowing it to fit densely packed control panels without obstructing airflow. In an automated line, this drive supplies regulated three-phase power to a matched servomotor, enabling precise velocity and torque control in packaging cells, pick-and-place axes, and other motion-centric stations.

The drive accepts a three-phase input of 208 – 480 V and converts it to a regulated DC link that is permitted to rise as high as 900 VDC. At the motor terminals, it can sustain a continuous current of 6 A rms and deliver up to 12 A rms for short accelerations. A switching frequency of 8 kHz minimizes ripple and audible noise, while the internal bus draws no more than 5 kVA under rated load. Auxiliary electronics run from a 24 VDC supply so field wiring can be powered during lockout situations. Thermal behavior is characterized by 12 W of loss when disabled and 90 W during rated operation, and the residual voltage drop of 5 V across the output stage must be considered when sizing motor voltage. Hardware losses are further contained by insulated-gate drivers synchronized to the selected DeviceNet communication card.

For machine integration, the controller provides 2 analog inputs for velocity or torque commands, 4 digital inputs for enable, reset, or mode selection, and two unpowered digital outputs that report status to the PLC. A DeviceNet expansion card transmits parameter data and diagnostic words across the fieldbus, while the certified STO (Safe Torque Off) function removes drive energy without opening the main contactor. These interfaces simplify wiring and make the unit compatible with mixed-vendor safety architectures.
