The MS2E Synchronous Servomotors are permanent-magnet servo motors engineered specifically for hazardous-area automation, certified for ATEX equipment group II and category 3 for gas and dust in zones 2 and 22.
The series focuses on simplified installation with an innovative single-cable concept that carries power, encoder, and temperature signals through one rotatable SpeedCon connector and supports cable lengths up to 75 m depending on the drive system. Motors are offered in five frame sizes with up to three lengths per size and overlapping torque ranges, reaching maximum torque up to 119 Nm and maximum speed up to 9,000 min⁻¹. Feedback is provided by a safe high-resolution digital singleturn or multiturn encoder system with motor data memory and a digital type plate, supporting SafeMotion performance levels up to SIL2/PL d. Mechanical and application options include a shaft sealing ring with IP65 protection, plain or keyway shaft designs, an optional holding brake, and an additional grounding terminal to support use in ATEX environments.
