The MS2E05-B0BTN-CMSG0-NNNNN-NN is a three-phase permanent-magnet servo motor produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the MS2E Synchronous Servomotors series. It provides precise rotary positioning for machine tools, packaging lines, and pick-and-place axes that rely on fast dynamic response and encoder-based feedback for closed-loop motion. The motor reaches a nominal speed of 6000 rpm, allowing high cycle rates when paired with a compatible Rexroth drive. Its permanent-magnet design supports responsive torque production across the operating speed range.
A deep-groove ball bearing set supports the smooth shaft, which includes a sealing ring, and the enclosure has an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water jets. Position data are supplied by an Advanced Performance ACUROlink multiturn encoder with a single-turn resolution of 20-bit. The encoder signal, motor power, and auxiliary connections are routed through a rotatable M23 single-cable connector, reducing the number of cables required between the motor and drive. A PT1000 temperature sensor monitors winding temperature and allows the drive to respond if excessive heat develops. The motor uses a B5 / IM3001 mounting arrangement with a 98 mm flange, 9 mm through holes on a 115 mm bolt circle, and a 95 mm centering collar. Frame length B and motor size 05 establish the housing proportions, while self-cooling permits operation without an external blower.
The ATEX-compliant design supports operation in applicable areas where flammable dust or gases may be present. The encoder stores an absolute position range of 4096 revolutions, allowing position recovery after power is restored without requiring a new homing cycle. Operation is permitted at elevations up to 1000 m above mean sea level and at ambient temperatures from 0 to 40 °C without derating. The low-inertia rotor reduces the energy required for acceleration and deceleration, supporting short positioning cycles in dynamic machinery. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so stationary loads must be secured by drive-applied torque, a mechanical clamp, or another external holding device when necessary.
