The AP5000 panels are designed and constructed by B&R. The operations of these panels are aided by link modules, swing arm mounting units or VESA, flanges ( for swing arm mounting units), and expansion units (for AP5230 only). The AP5000 panels can exhibit different protection degrees depending on the available mounting unit.

B&R’s 5AP5230.215I-000 is an AP5000 panel model with a mass of 5400g. It has a 21.5 inches diagonal length and displays 16.7 million colors. Like other AP5000 panels, the 5ACCMA00.000x-000 mounting unit provides this panel with a protection degree of IP 65, while the 5ACCMA01.0100-000 allows it to exhibit a protection degree of IP 10. This panel's resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD), and its display contrast is 5000:1. A thin-film-transistor color display is utilized in this device alongside an LED backlight with a brightness range of 12.5 to 250cd/m³. Its housing material is also made of aluminum and coated with white aluminum.

A multi-touch projected capacitive touchscreen is used to navigate the 5AP5230.215I-000. The panel also allows for the installation of expansion covers which feature cutouts used for installing operating elements. It is framed in a coated white aluminum casing that is resistant to corrosion. As a product of Pollution Degree 2 per EN 61131-2, its operations cause no damage to the environment. Its optimal operating conditions include a relative humidity range of 5% to 95% and a maximum ambient temperature of 50°C. In addition, it should be transported in a space with a temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and void of hostile gases such as sulfur, chlorine, and nitrogen.
