The B&R 5CF Compact Flash Cards series is a family of replaceable industrial storage media designed for use in B&R automation hardware where resistance to temperature, shock, and vibration is important.
Across the series, the cards use SLC flash memory together with wear-leveling, ECC error correction, and S.M.A.R.T.-based lifetime monitoring to support long service life and reliable data retention in industrial applications. The range includes multiple capacities, from smaller legacy cards up through higher-capacity variants, with support levels that depend on the target hardware platform and operating system generation. Depending on the version, the cards support industrial transfer modes up to PIO, Multiword DMA, and Ultra DMA operation, and some models are rated for extended-temperature environments and defined endurance values based on guaranteed write volume or erase/write cycles.
