The motor-gearbox combinations in 8LVB Gear Motors series tackle the common challenge of fitting serious performance into cramped industrial spaces.
With power handling up to 1 kW, these units work well in applications where substantial torque is required. The series breaks down into three frame sizes - designated as sizes 1, 2, and 3. Bigger numbers mean larger flanges and higher power ratings, which allows for some flexibility when matching motors to specific load requirements. Each size also comes in two different motor lengths, affording different power levels while keeping the same mounting footprint. These motors also have single-stage planetary designs with ratios of 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10. The backlash stays under 8-15 arcminutes across all ratios. Two-stage versions are available, and some come with smooth output shafts instead of the standard keyed ones. The direct-mount approach cuts down on weight and reduces the overall package size compared to separate motor and gearbox setups. It also means fewer alignment issues and less vibration from coupling mismatches. Most units ship with either resolver feedback or EnDat 2.2 encoders, depending on what drive the system necessitates.
