The 5C2 Compact Processors series is a family of industrial controllers in the Provit 2000 platform built around 486-class processors, with available versions using 66 MHz DX2 and 133 MHz DX5 CPUs depending on the model.
Across the series, configurations vary by memory and storage, including 8 MB or 32 MB DRAM, battery-buffered SRAM, onboard FlashPROM, Compact Flash storage, silicon disk variants, and hard-disk-based units with capacities up to 2.1 GB. These processors were designed for machine and control integration with multiple communication and interface options such as serial ports, a bidirectional parallel port, isolated CAN field bus, PC-Card expansion, and, in some versions, Ethernet or Arcnet connectivity. The series also supports connection to flat displays, monitors, Panelware keypad modules, PS/2 keyboards, and external disk drives, reflecting its role as a compact control platform for operator-interface-based automation systems. The units operate from a 24 VDC supply, are intended for vertical installation, and are specified for industrial environments with non-condensing humidity, operating temperatures up to 50°C, and installation altitudes up to 3,000 meters.
