The HCM Maestro PLC Modules series is a family of B&R MAESTRO coprocessor modules designed for use in PLC racks, industrial computer systems, and multiprocessor control architectures.
The series includes variants based on Motorola 68000 and 68030 processors, with operating frequencies up to 33 MHz, onboard SRAM and DRAM or FPROM memory configurations, and OS-9 operating system support for embedded control and computing tasks. Standard interface capability includes RS232/TTY and RS232/RS485 communication, while selected versions also add PCMCIA support for expanded system functionality. These modules can communicate with PLC peripherals either through software-based exchange using the PLC CPU or through direct bus access with an MCIF2 interface for time-critical applications. The HCM Maestro PLC Modules series is intended for applications that require scalable processing performance, integration with shared bus structures, and support for both standalone and multi-controller automation systems.
