The B&R 8AC Powerlink Modules series is a family of ACOPOS plug-in communication modules used to add POWERLINK V2 connectivity to servo drive systems.
The series provides a 100 Mbit/s POWERLINK interface with two RJ45 ports and an integrated 2-port hub, which supports device-to-device wiring as well as star or tree topologies with level-2 hubs. These modules are designed for communication and parameter handling in time-critical motion applications, operate synchronously with the POWERLINK cycle, and include electrical isolation plus hardware and software watchdog support through the associated ACOPOS drive. The hardware also includes status and link LEDs, adjustable node addressing by HEX switches, and network limits such as up to 100 m between stations and up to 10 hub levels in the supported topology. Overall, the 8AC series is intended to provide integrated real-time POWERLINK communication for ACOPOS servo drives in distributed automation networks.
