80SD Stepper Motor Modules

The 80SD Stepper Motor Modules series is part of the ACOPOSmicro platform and is designed to control one or two 2-phase stepper motors within compact B&R motion systems.

The series operates from a 24 to 64 VDC supply and supports motor currents up to 10 A continuous with 15 A peak per motor, while variants are available with X2X Link communication and feedback options including HIPERFACE, SSI absolute, incremental encoder, or no encoder. A key feature of the platform is independent adjustment of holding current, nominal current, and boost current, which allows the module to match motor demand more closely and reduce unnecessary thermal load. The series also supports 256 microsteps per full step, uses a 38.5 kHz PWM frequency, and includes integrated motor detection that can identify connected motors through coil characteristics and help detect wiring errors or incorrect motor selection. Additional functionality across the lineup includes trigger inputs, optional digital or analog I/O variants, and integration with Automation Studio and CNC applications for machine-level motion control.
