The B&R 5MP Mobile Panels series is a family of wired handheld operator devices designed for portable machine control and monitoring tasks in industrial environments.
The series includes MP40 and MP50 variants with either a 3.8-inch QVGA grayscale display or a 6.5-inch VGA color touch screen, and both platforms use an Intel PXA270 processor with 256 MB DRAM and 128 MB flash memory. Across the range, the panels provide Ethernet and USB connectivity, membrane keys, integrated stop and dual enabling devices, and application-dependent options such as a handwheel, joystick, key switch, override potentiometer, or illuminated pushbutton. The housing is built for mobile industrial use with a rugged double-walled construction, resistance to shock and vibration, and protection against water, oils, grease, and common cleaning agents. Overall, the 5MP series is intended for portable HMI operation where ergonomic handling, safety-related control elements, and configurable operator functions are required.
