The B&R M2N Multi Control Modules series is a family of MultiControl power supply and CPU modules designed for use in the M264 rack system.
The series uses a Motorola 6809 microprocessor and provides 42 Kbytes of application program memory, support for up to 42 K instructions, 7168 registers, 800 flags, and a nonvolatile real-time clock function. Depending on the revision, the modules operate with selectable processing times of 2.5 ms or 1.7 ms per K instructions, and they support digital and analog I/O capacities of up to 264 digital points and 80 analog points. Communication features include a TTY online interface and an RS485, RS232, or TTY application interface, along with hardware timers, software timers, and fixed timing cycles for control tasks. Overall, the M2N series is intended for rack-based PLC control applications that require integrated CPU and power supply functions, memory-backed timekeeping, and compatibility with B&R Type B CPU software.
