The 5LS Logic Scanner Cards series consists of add-on communication modules that link B&R logic scanners to multiple industrial fieldbus networks, with available variants for Interbus, ControlNet, Profibus DP, CANopen, and DeviceNet in both master and slave configurations depending on the model.
These cards are designed to operate with compatible logic scanner units through a ribbon-cable connection, and up to two modules can be installed on a single logic scanner. Across the series, the modules share an industrial operating range of 0 to +55°C and a typical power consumption of 4.25 W, while data capacity varies by version from smaller slave-oriented configurations up to master models with as much as 3.5 KB of input and output data. The line also includes different physical and electrical interface designs such as RS422, RS485, RS232 diagnostics, CAN connections, DSUB connectors, Phoenix terminals, and network-specific status indicators for communication and fault monitoring. This range reflects a modular fieldbus expansion platform intended to adapt the logic scanner system to different network architectures rather than serving as standalone controllers.
