The 5CS Provit Controller System Units series is a family of industrial controller platforms for the Provit 5000 and Provit 5600 lines, with the system unit integrating the mainboard and peripheral interfaces into the controller assembly.
Across the series, versions were available for Intel Pentium, AMD K6, Intel Celeron, and Pentium III processors, using Intel 430HX or 440BX chipsets and memory configurations that ranged from earlier SIMM-based designs to later PC100 DIMM architectures with capacities up to 512 MB. Standard connectivity includes serial and parallel interfaces, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, USB, and support for both flat panel and VGA display connections. Later models also added onboard 10/100 Ethernet capability, higher video memory options, and support for remote IDE-connected drives or removable media configurations depending on the unit version.
