The Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series presents an option that is both reliable and cost-effective when consistent speed and sizable force are requirements.
These motors, made to run directly using single-phase AC power through a capacitor setup, come in NEMA 34 and NEMA 42 frame sizes. A special thing about these motors is how fast they naturally run, usually around 60-72 RPM. There are models made to match the power grid frequency where they’re being used (50 or 60 Hz), therefore setting them up easier. When consistent speed is needed even when object get heavy the motors can handle it because they can create force of up to 700 oz-in (4.94 Nm). Certain motor models are made for power at single voltages such as 120 VAC or 240 VAC. In terms of connections, users can choose between leaded connections and terminal boxes. The possibility of adding gearboxes; therefore, changing the speed and greatly increasing the force, is available as an option with some NEMA 34 models. Because the NEMA 34 motors' force ranges from 240 to 450 oz-in, and the NEMA 42 frames offer 150 to 700 oz-in, machinery and other equipment can operate at different levels because of this flexibility.
