The SS451TG12 is a geared synchronous AC motor produced by Danaher within the Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series. It combines a permanent-magnet rotor with a fixed gear reducer to deliver constant low-speed rotation for indexing tables, conveyors, and similar automation equipment. The motor operates directly from single-phase line power with the assistance of its internal phase-shift capacitor, eliminating the need for an external drive. The integrated motor and reducer provide a compact source of controlled torque for continuous-duty positioning applications.
At the electrical interface, the motor is rated for a 120 VAC supply and draws 0.80 A under rated operating conditions, allowing connection to common branch circuits without specialized protection equipment. The synchronous field locks to a line frequency of 60 Hz, and the six-pole arrangement works with the reducer to produce an output shaft speed of 72 rpm. Energy passing through the spur gears reaches the reducer output at an efficiency of 77%. The remaining energy is converted to heat and conducted through the motor housing. This operating efficiency reflects the use of antifriction bearings and the moderate gear ratio selected for the assembly.
The mechanical output provides a minimum running torque of 450 oz-in, establishing the available torque for connected loads during continuous operation.
