The SS241LG12 is a geared synchronous stepping motor manufactured by Danaher and supplied through the Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series. It combines a permanent-magnet motor with a spur gearbox in a single assembly that delivers low-speed, high-torque motion for indexing tables, metering pumps, and light conveyor stations. Because the motor advances in discrete steps, it supports precise positioning during repetitive cycles without requiring feedback sensors or a separate external reducer.
The mechanical reduction stage has a 12:1 gear ratio, so twelve rotor revolutions produce one output-shaft revolution and limit the output speed to 6 rpm. Minimum stall torque reaches 2,218 oz-in, providing substantial resistance to movement when the shaft is stationary. The gear train operates at 77% efficiency, allowing most of the motor’s mechanical output to reach the connected load. The winding circuit draws 0.10 A, which limits the electrical load placed on the control circuit. The gear train has 61 degrees of input lost motion and 2 degrees of output backlash, which must be considered in applications requiring bidirectional positioning. Single-phase excitation simplifies the required control arrangement. Installation uses a 3.875-inch bolt circle with 0.223-inch through holes, providing a secure mounting pattern for the motor assembly.
