The SS150-1077U is a low-speed synchronous stepping motor produced by Danaher for the Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series. As a timing-accurate AC workhorse, it indexes machine elements directly from the single-phase mains and holds position between steps without additional feedback. In industrial automation, it is deployed in conveyor metering stations, labeling heads, and small rotary fixtures where constant speed and simple open-loop control are required. Its construction allows mounting inside compact panels while delivering reliable synchronous rotation, and the motor’s inherent detent torque simplifies mechanical design by reducing the need for external brakes.
Designed for North American utility service, the motor operates on 120 Vac and synchronizes with the power line at 60 Hz. When energized, it turns at a constant 72 rpm, a speed obtained by dividing the line frequency through its internal pole configuration, making it suitable for direct-drive indexing tables. A minimum running torque of 150 oz-in ensures that light conveyors or cams remain in motion without stalling under the rated load. Despite this torque capacity, the frame remains compact, with a maximum body diameter of 4.23 in, allowing installation in tight enclosures.
