The SS451TG9 is a synchronous stepping motor with an integral gear reducer manufactured by Danaher within the Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series. Designed for fixed-frequency operation, it runs directly from standard 60 Hz mains power and supplies low-speed, high-torque motion for positioning cams, feeders, and small conveyors in automated machinery. The unit couples a permanent-magnet stator section to a sealed gearbox, allowing repeatable indexing without a separate electronic drive.
The stator windings accept a single-phase supply of 120 Vac and draw 0.8 A RMS during steady operation. A built-in reducer provides a mechanical ratio of 9:1, and its spur gear train transmits power with 77% efficiency. Under these conditions, the output shaft rotates at 8 rpm and produces up to 3119 oz-in of continuous torque. Backlash at the gearbox output is limited to 2°, while the motor input permits 43° of lost motion to cushion startups. When matched with inertial loads, the drive can handle a reflected inertia of 0.115 lb-in² and a maximum downstream inertia of 336 lb-in² without losing synchronous operation. Precision bearings limit output shaft play and help keep radial movement low during operation.
The gearbox body measures 1.81 in long and joins the motor section to produce an overall assembly length of 7.46 in.
