The SS241G5 is a geared synchronous motor produced by Danaher as part of the Slo-Syn Synchronous Motors series. This single-output unit combines a permanent-magnet stepping element with an integral reducer, allowing precise, low-speed rotation for conveyors, metering pumps, and indexing tables used in industrial automation. By delivering consistent step accuracy without external feedback circuitry, the motor simplifies position control tasks that require incremental motion and holding capability.
The motor operates from a 120 Vac supply and is wound for single-phase service, so it can be driven directly from standard North American mains without a separate transformer. Internal timing is matched to 60 Hz, which sets the electrical step rate before the reducer multiplies torque. A square, IEC-comparable housing has a 90 mm frame size that establishes the mounting footprint and allows interchange with other Slo-Syn gearmotors. After the reducer, the shaft turns at 14.4 rpm, providing slow, repeatable motion suited to metering or indexing tasks. Electrical connections use a connector-and-leads arrangement for straightforward in-cabinet wiring. The shaft projects at least 1.10 in, leaving adequate length for couplings. The pilot diameter is limited to 2.91 in so the motor can fit into recessed machine faces.
The built-in reducer has a 5:1 gear ratio that multiplies motor torque while reducing angular movement at the output shaft. Installation uses a 3.88 in mounting bolt circle with two holes, each drilled to 0.223 in for through-bolts. A #405 Woodruff key secures torque transfer, and a 1.79 in shaft flat provides an alternate clamping surface for set-screw hubs.
