Intended for open-loop indexers, labeling stations, and low-speed conveyors, it locks to the mains frequency and advances in fixed angular steps without requiring an electronic drive. This direct-to-line operation makes the unit a compact motion source for machinery that requires consistent rotational speed and high holding torque over extended duty cycles.
The stator windings are designed for a nominal supply of 240 VAC, and the motor uses a single-phase circuit that can connect to standard facility power. Under load, it draws up to 9 A, which determines the breaker and conductor ratings needed for safe installation. When energized from a 50 Hz line, the rotor settles at 60 rpm. The motor uses a four-pole design that aligns each mechanical revolution with one electrical cycle per second. Continuous operation at 50 Hz requires a 4 µF run capacitor installed according to diagram RC, completing the phase-shifting network and balancing the winding currents.
