The Danfoss VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series is a family of AC drives developed for machine builders that need precise motor control, functional safety, and flexible communication in compact industrial systems.
The series is designed as a successor to the VLT 2800 and retains compatible panel dimensions, connectors, cable lengths, and setup tools, which supports retrofit work in existing installations. Available supply classes include 1 x 200-240 V, 3 x 200-240 V, and 3 x 380-480 V, with power coverage from 0.37 kW up to 22 kW depending on voltage range. The drives integrate features such as harmonic mitigation, RFI filtering, brake chopper functionality, Safe Torque Off, and active power factor correction, reducing the need for external components in the cabinet. The FC 280 platform is intended for applications in food and beverage, material handling, and processing industries where compact size, fast commissioning, and reliable operation up to 45°C at full load are important.
