Product Description:
The 134X3053 is a compact AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss and supplied under the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. This chassis-mounted inverter converts fixed-frequency mains power into a modulated output, allowing control systems to adjust motor speed without mechanical throttling. Its output can be regulated to match motor torque with changing load demands, which can reduce unnecessary energy use in variable-speed applications. The drive is suitable for light-duty conveyors, pump skids, ventilation equipment, and other machinery that requires controlled acceleration and speed regulation.
The drive accepts a single-phase 200–240 VAC supply and provides a continuous motor output of 0.55 kW, corresponding to 0.75 HP. A factory-installed option provides a standard control card with Modbus, allowing the drive to receive operating commands and transmit diagnostic information through a built-in communication channel. The converter includes an RFI filter rated for EMC Category C1 at 200 V and C2 at 400 V to limit conducted electrical emissions. No additional mains options are installed in this configuration. The front panel does not include a display, so operating parameters are accessed through an external interface or the Modbus connection. The standard electrical configuration supports constant-torque and variable-torque loads without application-specific modifications.
The enclosure carries an IP20 chassis rating, which protects against accidental contact with internal live parts while permitting the airflow needed for panel cooling. Because the chassis is not sealed against water or fine contaminants, it should be mounted inside a suitable electrical cabinet. The circuit boards have a coated PCB finish that helps protect copper traces and electronic components from condensation and airborne contamination. The drive has no brake chopper, so it cannot directly route regenerated energy to a braking resistor during rapid deceleration. Applications with high-inertia loads or short stopping times require separate braking equipment or a deceleration profile that keeps the DC bus within its operating limits. The compact chassis format conserves panel space while leaving the cooling passages accessible for proper heat dissipation.
