Product Description:
The FC-280P1K5S2E20H is an AC variable-frequency controller manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. It converts a fixed single-phase mains supply into a modulated three-phase output so automation systems can regulate induction-motor speed and torque without mechanical throttling. Typical uses include conveyors, compact pumps, and small fan stations where cabinet space and simple wiring are priorities.
This drive attains an efficiency of 95.0% and supports an output frequency range of 0–500 Hz, allowing slow-speed jogging and high-frequency operation on the same unit. On the input side, it draws up to 10.4 A from a single-phase 200–240 VAC network operating at 50/60 Hz. Internally, the inverter stage delivers a rated current of 6.8 A to the motor while tolerating 10.9 A during short overloads. The continuous power rating is 1.5 kW. The motor and control electronics are housed in an enclosure with an IP20 chassis protection rating, making the unit suitable for mounting inside ventilated panels where accidental finger contact must be prevented but splash protection is not required.
The housing measures 75 mm wide, 210 mm high, and 168 mm deep, with a mass of 2.5 kg, so it fits narrow motor control center columns and does not require additional support rails. Mechanical output is equivalent to 2.0 HP. The thermal design limits total power loss to 97.5 W, allowing fanless cooling by natural convection in most installations. Power and motor conductors can be terminated on screw clamps that accept cables measuring up to 4 mm² (12 AWG). This terminal capacity accommodates common conductor sizes used for the drive’s input and motor connections without requiring oversized cable hardware.
