Product Description:
The 134U2990 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. It regulates the speed of three-phase induction motors used in conveyors, pumps, and compact process machines. In an automation panel, the drive receives fixed mains power, varies the output frequency, and supplies the motor torque required for changing load conditions. This control can reduce mechanical stress and energy consumption while maintaining a compact installation footprint in decentralized control cabinets. The drive is suitable for machinery that requires adjustable motor speed without a separate motion control system.
The drive accepts a three-phase 380–480 VAC supply without an external transformer and provides up to 22 kW of continuous output power. Its enclosure has an IP20 rating, which protects against accidental contact with internal components but does not provide protection from water spray. The surrounding enclosure must therefore provide clean ventilation air and suitable protection from moisture. A built-in brake chopper supports dynamic stopping by directing regenerated DC-bus energy to an external braking resistor. The unit does not include a mains option module, leaving the standard input arrangement available for conventional constant-torque applications. Adaptation A and Adaptation B are not applied, so the electrical configuration remains unchanged from the base design.
The integrated radio-frequency interference filter meets EMC Category C1 at 200 V and Category C2 at 400 V, helping reduce conducted electrical emissions on compatible low-voltage systems. Control wiring terminates on the standard control card with Modbus, which provides parameter access through a two-wire serial connection when no separate fieldbus option is installed. This interface allows a compatible controller to exchange operating commands, reference values, and drive status information over the serial network. The printed circuit boards have a protective coated finish that shields conductive tracks from dust and condensation in lightly ventilated cabinets. The standard language set supports the drive’s available menu structure, although the unit does not have a fitted local display. Drive settings can instead be accessed through the available control connection using compatible external equipment.
