The FC-280P2K2T2H2BNCXXXSXXXXAN variable-frequency drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. In automation cells, it converts fixed mains power into a variable-frequency output that allows pumps, fans, and conveyors to operate at the speed required by the process. This control can reduce energy consumption and mechanical stress when equipment does not need to run continuously at full speed. Its compact housing and DIN-rail accessories allow installation inside distributed control panels where space is limited. The drive can regulate compatible induction motors in applications that require adjustable speed, controlled acceleration, and stable operation under changing loads.
The rated motor output is 2.2 kW, which corresponds to 3.0 HP for light- to medium-duty machinery. The power section accepts a three-phase 200–240 VAC supply and uses IGBT switching to generate the required frequency and voltage for the connected motor. The drive belongs to the Midi Drive FC product group, while the 280 platform uses the parameter structure and mechanical format associated with this range. Thermal management relies on natural convection and available panel airflow. Efficient power switching helps limit conduction losses while the drive controls motor speed and torque. Both expansion positions include no adaptation modules, leaving the drive without custom interface hardware in those slots. Standard control wiring can still support the normal start, stop, reference, and feedback functions available for the drive. External controls can be arranged according to the machine’s operating sequence, while protective devices and enclosure ventilation should be selected for the installation conditions.
