Product Description:
The 134U7749 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. The device converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output that allows production equipment to vary motor speed on demand. In automated lines, this control can synchronize conveyors, modulate pump flow, or maintain mixer torque while minimizing energy consumption. A compact chassis and pluggable terminals allow the drive to fit into panels where space and wiring time are limited, extending Danfoss motor-control capability to midrange power applications.
Its continuous output is rated at 3.0 kW, which is equivalent to 4.0 HP, so it can run medium-frame motors without derating. The input section accepts a three-phase 380–480 VAC supply, allowing direct connection to standard industrial feeders. The IP20 chassis enclosure provides protection against accidental finger contact, but the drive must be installed inside a suitable cabinet because it is not sealed against water or fine debris. An integrated Profibus DP control card provides cyclic setpoint exchange and diagnostic data for connected PLC networks. This built-in network interface removes the need for an external gateway and supports centralized control of the drive from compatible automation systems.
For dynamic stopping, the drive includes a brake chopper that routes regenerative energy to an external resistor instead of returning it to the mains. Electromagnetic compatibility is supported by the factory-installed EMC Category C3 (200/400 V) filter, which reduces conducted electrical noise in industrial installations with long motor cables. Component longevity is supported by a coated printed circuit board that protects the control electronics from humidity and airborne contaminants. The front panel has no integrated display, so adjustments are made through software or remote fieldbus tools. Operating data, parameter changes, and diagnostic information can therefore be accessed through a connected control system or an appropriate service interface.
