Product Description:
The FC-280P1K5T4E20H1BXCXXXSXXXXAL is an AC motor controller built by Danfoss for its VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. Intended for cabinet installation in automated machinery, the drive provides variable-speed control for induction motors used on production lines and other industrial systems. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into regulated motor voltage and frequency, allowing the connected equipment to adjust speed, coordinate operation with PLC-based sequences, and reduce unnecessary energy consumption when full motor output is not required.
The drive is rated for 1.5 kW of continuous output power, which corresponds to 2.0 HP. It accepts a three-phase 380–480 VAC supply, allowing direct connection to compatible industrial power systems without a step-down transformer. An integrated brake chopper manages regenerated energy during rapid deceleration by directing it to the braking circuit, helping prevent excessive DC-bus voltage. The factory-installed filter meets EMC Category C1 at 200 V and Category C2 at 400 V limits, reducing conducted electrical noise returned to the supply. This filtering supports operation near other control equipment that may be sensitive to interference from high-frequency drive switching.
The electronics use coated printed circuit boards, which improve resistance to humidity and airborne contaminants inside industrial cabinets. Fieldbus communication is provided through an integrated PROFINET interface that exchanges status words, operating commands, and setpoints with Ethernet-based controllers. The open IP20 chassis enclosure protects against accidental contact with hazardous internal parts but requires installation inside a closed electrical panel. Local parameter entry is unavailable because the unit does not include a display, so configuration and monitoring are performed through connected control or computer tools. A standard language pack provides English and common European language text for supported software interfaces. The line side uses the drive’s basic arrangement without additional mains modules, leaving panel designers to provide any required external disconnects, branch protection, and enclosure-level safeguards.
