Product Description:
The 134X3042 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. Designed as a compact, midrange controller, the unit converts single-phase mains power into an adjustable three-phase output for regulating motor speed and torque. This conversion allows the connected motor to operate according to process demand instead of remaining at a fixed speed. The drive is suitable for conveyors, pumps, fans, dosing equipment, and general industrial machinery where variable-speed operation can reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Its compact design also supports installation in control panels where available mounting space is limited.
The drive accepts a single-phase 200–240 VAC supply, allowing direct connection to compatible light-industrial power networks without an isolation transformer. Its continuous mechanical output is rated at 0.37 kW, which corresponds to 0.50 HP for fractional-horsepower induction motors. The IP20 chassis enclosure protects against accidental finger contact but requires installation inside a suitable cabinet to prevent exposure to moisture and debris. For electromagnetic compatibility, the integrated filter meets EMC Category C1 at 200 V and Category C2 at 400 V. This filtering reduces conducted electrical noise that could otherwise affect nearby control equipment or travel through shared power lines. Proper cabinet spacing and ventilation remain necessary to remove operating heat and maintain dependable performance.
Control functionality is provided by a standard control card with Modbus, enabling direct register-based communication with compatible PLCs and supervisory controllers. The electronics use a coated printed circuit board that helps resist moisture and airborne contaminants in industrial cabinets. The drive has no brake chopper, so applications with rapid deceleration or regenerative loads must manage returned energy through suitable external system equipment. A standard language pack provides multilingual parameter menus for configuring motor data, acceleration ramps, operating limits, and communication settings. The front panel does not include a display, so operating data and parameter access require an appropriate external interface or connected controller. Adaptation A and Adaptation B are not fitted, while the stop sequence, mains arrangement, and auxiliary functions use the standard configuration for this model.
