Product Description:
The FC-280P1K1T4H2BNCXXXSXXXXAN is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss in the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. The unit modulates the line supply to control the speed and torque of three-phase induction motors used in conveyors, fans, and general-purpose machinery. By converting fixed mains frequency into a variable output, the drive allows precise process adjustment without mechanical dampers or gear changes, making it a compact component for distributed industrial automation. This variable-frequency output also allows connected equipment to operate at the speed required by the process instead of running continuously at full speed.
It connects to plant power through a three-phase 380–480 VAC input and delivers a continuous output of 1.1 kW, which is equivalent to 1.5 HP. This output range is suitable for small pumps, conveyors, fans, and tooling spindles that require adjustable motor speed. The control stage has no brake chopper, so an external dynamic braking resistor cannot be connected directly to the drive. Regenerated energy must instead be managed by the motor and application or handled through other compatible equipment in the power system. The fixed configuration provides the essential control functions required for common variable-speed applications without adding optional application features.
The electronics have no conformal PCB coating, so the drive should be installed in a clean indoor location that is protected from corrosive gases, conductive dust, and excessive moisture. Operator interaction is handled through remote setup tools because the housing has no display, keypad, or text module on its front panel. This arrangement allows parameters and operating data to be accessed through compatible external control or communication equipment. The internal platform identifier 280 corresponds to the drive’s control platform and physical format. Its compact housing supports installation in control panels where available mounting space is limited, while the variable-frequency output provides direct regulation of motor acceleration, speed, and torque for routine industrial operation.
