Product Description:
The 134U2982 drive is manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. As a variable-frequency inverter within the Midi Drive FC product group, it is intended for general-purpose speed control of three-phase induction motors in conveyors, pumps, and compact machine modules. By modulating the supply frequency, it allows automation controllers to match motor torque to process demand, reducing energy use and mechanical stress. Its compact format supports installation in machine control cabinets where available mounting space is limited.
It delivers a continuous output power of 2.2 kW, which corresponds to 3.0 HP when the connected motor is rated in imperial units. The input section accepts a three-phase input of 380–480 VAC, so the drive can be wired directly to standard industrial mains without transformers. For cabinet integration, the unit carries an IP20 chassis protection rating; finger-safe openings allow natural airflow, while the metal frame provides a path for heat transfer to the surrounding air. An integrated RFI network meets EMC Category C1 at 200 V and Category C2 at 400 V emission limits, allowing installation near sensitive instrumentation without additional filters. Parameter sets follow the internal 280 series structure and provide access to the operating values needed for motor control.
This model includes a brake chopper that routes regenerated energy to an external resistor, preventing rapid deceleration from raising the DC-link voltage beyond safe limits. The control electronics are mounted on a coated PCB, which protects fine traces against dust and humidity commonly found in panel enclosures. Serial communication is provided by a standard control card with Modbus, enabling parameter access over an RS-485 connection. The drive has no front display, so configuration and monitoring must be performed through the available communication interface or compatible external controls. The standard software language pack is included for supported configuration tools. No mains-side accessories are integrated, so line reactors or fuses must be added externally when required by the installation.
