Internal Product Review
The FC-280P7K5T4E20H1BX is a Danfoss VLT FC 280 midi drive rated at 10 HP and 7.5 kW. Three-phase 380-480 VAC input and EMC Cat C1(200V)/C2(400V) filtering support clean integration in standard industrial panels. A built-in brake chopper and IP20 chassis construction make the drive a strong choice for controlled motion applications.

Product Description:
The FC-280P7K5T4E20H1BX is an AC variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. It modulates output frequency and voltage so asynchronous or permanent-magnet motors can match process demand in conveyor, pump, and fan applications. By controlling motor flux electronically, the converter reduces inrush current at startup and helps maintain stable speed as load conditions change. That makes it suitable for systems that need controlled ramping, repeatable motor response, and smoother starts than direct-on-line operation. This operating method can also reduce mechanical stress in automated equipment installed on factory floors or in utility systems.
The drive provides a continuous output of 7.5 kW, which is equivalent to 10 HP. It operates from a three-phase 380–480 VAC supply, and an internal diode bridge with an IGBT inverter converts that input into the required variable frequency. This output range suits mid-sized machinery that needs steady motor control across changing process conditions. The enclosure has an IP20 chassis rating, so the unit is finger-safe but still requires installation in a protective electrical cabinet where dust or moisture is present. To reduce conducted and radiated noise, the integrated RFI network meets EMC Cat C1 (200 V) / C2 (400 V), which supports use near sensitive control and measurement equipment.
Regenerative energy created during stopping is routed to an external resistor by the built-in brake chopper, which helps keep DC-link voltage within a safe range during rapid deceleration. The standard front cover has no display, so parameter access is handled through external programming tools rather than a local keypad. This arrangement is useful where the drive is mounted inside an enclosure and routine front-panel interaction is not required. The unit belongs to the Midi Drive FC product group and carries the internal index 280.
