The FC-280TP55T4E20H1BXCXXXSXXXXAL is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 280 Midi Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a pulse-width-modulated output, allowing automation controllers to regulate motor speed in conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other industrial equipment. Controlled acceleration and deceleration can reduce mechanical stress on connected machinery while matching motor operation to process demand. The compact Midi platform is intended for OEM machinery that requires fieldbus connectivity and basic motion-control functions within a space-efficient cabinet installation.
The drive has an IP20 chassis, which protects against accidental finger contact with live parts but requires an enclosure for protection from dust and water. It accepts a three-phase 380–480 VAC supply, allowing direct connection to commonly used industrial power systems within that voltage range. A built-in brake chopper manages regenerated energy during dynamic stopping and supports the use of a suitable braking resistor when required by the application. A coated printed circuit board helps protect conductive traces from moisture and airborne contaminants in demanding operating areas. Machine networks can configure and monitor the drive through an integrated PROFINET interface, which provides real-time communication with compatible PLCs and automation controllers.
Conducted emissions are limited by an integrated filter rated for EMC Category C1 at 200 V and Category C2 at 400 V. This filter can reduce the need for additional line-filtering equipment when the drive is installed under conditions that satisfy the applicable EMC category. Menus use the standard language pack for supported parameter and status information. The unit is supplied with no local display, so interaction is handled through a compatible remote panel, network connection, or control interface.
