The S20 IndraControl Modules system works as either local I/O connected directly to controllers or as remote stations spread throughout a facility.
It's built around IP20 protection and handles the fast data exchange that modern automation demands. The system runs on SERCOS automation bus, which keeps everything synchronized and moving. Performance-wise, S20 modules update times under 6 µs when running 256 I/O points. Scale that up to 1024 I/O and it measures around 13 µs maximum. The speed comes from individual modules that each respond in just 1 µs. Each bus coupler can handle up to 63 I/O modules. The modules themselves are compact at 53.6mm wide, 126.1mm high, and 54mm deep, so they require much panel space. Operating temperature range spans -25°C to 60°C, covering most industrial environments without needing special cooling or heating. The local bus runs at 100 Mbps with standard 24V DC supply voltage. It tolerates ±5% ripple, which is typical for industrial power supplies. Connection-wise, everything plugs together rather than requiring hardwired connections, making setup and maintenance simple. Module types cover digital inputs and outputs, analog I/O, and safety-rated modules for applications requiring SIL ratings. The safety modules work with both PROFIsafe and CIP Safety protocols, supporting single-channel or two-channel configurations.
