The S20-AI-4-UTH is an analog input module manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the S20 IndraControl Modules series. Intended for installation on an S20 backplane, the unit digitizes temperature signals originating from sensors on the machine floor. Locating signal conditioning close to the process reduces field wiring length and supports the predictable updates required by ovens, molding presses, and climate chambers. Its slice-style architecture allows individual channels to be expanded or serviced without disturbing adjacent modules. This modular arrangement also simplifies the organization of temperature measurement points in automation cabinets with limited available space.
The module provides four differential channels, with each channel dedicated to a single thermocouple circuit. Its conversion electronics are factory calibrated for precise temperature acquisition, reducing the need for external signal scaling in the PLC. The analog input function supports organized variable mapping during controller configuration, allowing each temperature value to be assigned to the appropriate control task.
