Product Description:
The S20-DOR-4/2-220-AC is a relay output slice produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the S20 IndraControl Modules series. It adds four normally open relay channels to an S20 station and enables control of field loads directly from the system bus. Designed for DIN rail mounting, the slice acts as an interface that converts logic-level commands from the IndraControl controller into isolated contact closures, allowing pumps, contactors, or lamps to be switched on demand in industrial automation cells.
Each channel can switch up to 8 A, so single-phase motors or solenoid valves remain within its load capacity. The contacts support mains potentials up to 230 V AC and DC circuits up to 220 V DC, providing flexibility when the cabinet distributes mixed supplies. The module has an IP20 ingress protection rating, so its open-style housing must be installed inside a protected enclosure. Data exchange with the station controller occurs over the S20 local bus at 100 Mbps; this bandwidth is sufficient for exchanging the module’s 24-byte process image. The module connects to the bus through push-in terminals that accept solid or ferruled conductors, and the 5 V logic supply is drawn automatically from the backplane.
The internal electronics operate from a backplane line held at 5 V DC, while the relay commons are galvanically isolated from the logic domain. Field wiring can have a cross-sectional area of up to 1.5 mm², and conductors must be stripped to 8 mm before insertion to ensure a reliable clamp in the push-in terminal block. Safety insulation meets Class II requirements, so the slice itself does not require a protective earth connection. The housing measures 54 mm deep, 126.1 mm high, and 53.6 mm wide. These compact dimensions allow multiple input and output modules to be installed side by side without exceeding the standard enclosure depth.
