The S20-ETH-BK is a bus coupler manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the S20 IndraControl Modules series. It serves as the network head of an S20 I/O station, translating Ethernet-based control traffic into the local bus signals that reach every downstream slice. By forming this gateway, the unit allows distributed sensors and actuators to be addressed over standard plant wiring while retaining modular expansion on the machine rail. The coupler occupies limited cabinet space and establishes the power, data, and mechanical alignment required for subsequent modules.
The electronics are powered by a 24 V DC PELV source, and the input may vary within a ±5% ripple band without affecting operation. Communication with the controller is handled through Ethernet (Modbus/TCP). Once inside the station, frames are forwarded across the local bus at 100 Mbps to maintain deterministic update times.
