DC Servo Amplifiers

The DC Servo Amplifiers series is a family of Copley servo amplifiers designed for both DC brush and Hall-commutated DC brushless motors, with models that operate from unregulated DC supplies spanning approximately +22 to +225 VDC.

Depending on the model, the series supports torque control, velocity control with tachometer or encoder-derived feedback, voltage feedback with IR compensation, and digitally commanded position control. Output architecture across the series is based on four-quadrant MOSFET H-bridge power stages, with separate continuous and peak current limits, configurable compensation over a broad load inductance range, and bandwidth values up to 3 kHz. Interface and setup features vary by model but include industry-standard analog command inputs, digital communication or preset capability, solderless or header-based configuration, and status indication for commissioning and diagnostics. The series is intended for motion applications such as robotics, X-Y stages, automated assembly equipment, and similar systems that require compact amplifier hardware, controlled bidirectional motor operation, and built-in protection against faults such as short circuit, overtemperature, and supply-voltage abnormalities.
