Copley Controls 800-1074 DC Servo Amplifier is a high-performance, multi-axis PWM servo drive system. It is designed for sensitive motion control applications. It has a robust design that provides reliable performance under demanding industrial conditions. The system is efficient with four red LEDs used as a fault detection system and four green LEDs used for visual feedback. At the same time, the system has four green status indicators that monitor ~15V DC, 115V AC, and the DC bus voltage, so the operators can easily understand the operational status of the system.

The 800-1074 servo amplifier features an efficient power supply system as one of the significant features. The logic power supply ranges from 115V AC to +-15VDC, and the bus power supply converts 78V AC to a controlled DC voltage. A shunt regulator is also a part of the system to dissipate excess regenerative energy. An additional safety feature of the shunt regulator is a fuse that protects it from short circuits. At a pre-determined bus voltage, the shunt regulator is activated to avoid overvoltage conditions and provide a smooth operation.

The system is designed to operate in different industrial conditions. It also features a cooling fan, which helps to keep the temperature to optimum levels and maintains the equipment's efficiency. It also protects the amplifier from contaminants like oils, coolants, dust and condensation, thus making it reliable for various industrial environments. It includes a derating mechanism which can reduce continuous current by 3% for every 1000 ft increase in altitude above 3300 ft to a maximum of 10,000 ft.
