The FCD 300 Micro Drives series was built around the idea of getting drives closer to motors instead of stuffing everything into central control cabinets.
These units mount right on the motor or on a wall nearby. Power coverage runs from 0.37 kW up to 3.3 kW (that's 0.5 HP to 5.0 HP in the old units), with output current ratings spanning 1.4A to 7.6A across the range. Input voltage works with either 380V or 480V systems, and the frequency output can go from 0 all the way up to 590 Hz. There's also a flux mode that limits things to 0-300 Hz for certain applications. The drives pack 160% over-torque capability, which comes in handy during startup or when loads get sticky. Output frequency switching is unlimited, and ramp times are adjustable from 0.01 seconds up to a full hour if needed. Environmental protection is solid with IP66/NEMA 4X ratings on all the enclosures. This makes them work well in food and beverage plants where regular washdowns are part of the routine. The enclosures come in different colors - standard black, white, or hygienic white depending on what the application calls for. Communication happens through built-in RS485 with Modbus RTU, plus there are options for PROFIBUS if the plant network needs it. I/O setup includes 5 programmable digital inputs, 2 analog inputs handling ±10VDC and 0/4-20mA signals, 1 analog output at 0-20mA, and a relay output rated for 240V at 2A.
