FCD 300 Micro Drives

The Danfoss VLT Decentral Drive FCD 300 series comprises decentralized AC micro drives (frequency converters) designed to mount close to the motor for variable-speed control of standard three-phase AC motors, helping reduce central cabinet size and field wiring in distributed installations.

The platform supports multiple installation concepts including standalone wall mounting, direct motor mounting, and “3-in-one” solutions with geared motors, using a two-part construction with a fixed installation box and a pluggable electronics section to simplify servicing. Electrically, the drive converts 3-phase mains power (380–480 VAC, 50/60 Hz) to a DC intermediate circuit and then generates a variable-frequency/variable-voltage output for motor speed control across the specified operating frequency range. The series provides commissioning and integration through built-in I/O (digital and analog inputs/outputs plus relay output), local or PC-based parameter access, and optional accessories such as a local control panel interface depending on the build. Installation and protection requirements covered in the manual include protective earthing and leakage-current considerations, a mandatory discharge wait time after power-off, motor thermal protection configuration, and optional braking-related functions for applications needing controlled stopping.
